A Message from Akshobya Buddhist Centre

Akshobya Kadampa Buddhist Centre (AKBC) exists to bring new spiritual life to the people of this busy, modern city of Calgary. Finding true happiness and giving happiness to others is the real meaning of a spiritual life.

AKBCBuddhaAKBC exists through the supreme good heart of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. Through his kindness, our Centre possesses an unbroken lineage of stainless Buddhist teachings and qualified teachers. These pure teachings benefit Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, helping them to find peace in their own hearts and develop wisdom and patience for a happier more meaningful life.

But AKBC needs a solid material basis to assure that Kadam Dharma spreads throughout Southern Alberta and remains for generations. We rely on visitors and local members for support. All of the work at our Centre is done by volunteers. We‘re committed to keeping fees for classes and other events affordable for all, however these fees alone are not sufficient to keep the Centre open, growing and flourishing.

The Centre needs your help.

There is no greater gift to others than the gift of Dharma! You can give the gift of Buddha’s perfect methods for solving our problems and finding pure happiness by contributing generously to the flourishing of our Centre.

Each year, we need to raise funds through donations – our goal is to raise $10,000 to support the Centre’s growth and improvement. Your contribution – large or small – is welcome!

We appreciate so much the interest and support you have shown us. Our Centre is flourishing through your kindness and generosity.

Here’s how you can help:

AKBC is a Registered Charity, and we can provide a tax receipt for monthly pledges and one-time donations.

Our online donation pages allow easy access with PayPal. You can also use a credit or debit card to donate at any event at the Centre, or send a cheque to Akshobya KBC at 208-2120 Kensington Rd NW Calgary, AB T2N 3R7. Be sure to include your complete name and address to receive a tax receipt.
