Beginning January 31, this season’s Saturday classes will focus on getting to know our mind, our feelings and our wishes. We will learn to meditate and increase our mindfulness day by day so that eventually we will be able to remain peaceful and contented no matter what circumstances surround us.

Overcoming Anger (February 7)
Join us on to learn how to overcome anger the Buddhist way. Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Dema, will show us how to apply practical methods in our daily life to reduce our anger and finally to prevent it from arising at all.

New Mini-Series: The Five Forces
Join us on Wednesdays for new mini-series: The Five Forces – Keys to Transformation. This mini series is offered as part of A Closer Look at Buddhist Practice, our new Wednesday drop-in classes about practical instructions on how to become a modern day Buddhist.
The Wednesday classes are perfectly suitable for beginners who want to experience Buddhist life and for more experienced practitioners who need to improve and deepen their practice. Although the classes are a series, please feel absolutely free to drop in on any individual class.

Drop-in Classes at AKBC in Calgary & in Okotoks
Starting January 21, the Centre devotes Wednesday evenings to A Closer Look at Buddhist Practice. This closer look begins with a The Five Forces – Keys to Transformation, a five-part mini-series. This is followed by a four-part mini-series, Beginning Buddhist Tantra – basic preliminary knowledge to enter tantric practice. Although the classes are offered as a series, feel free to drop in on any class you’d like. You can also preregister for one or both series here.
Thursday night classes in Okotoks resume on February 12 at the Crystal Shores Beach House. Drop-in anytime! We also offer Midday Guided Meditations on Thursdays (12:15 – 12:45) at the Centre. Drop in and nourish yourself with some peace of mind!
The Centre continues to offer classes on selected Saturday mornings this winter. Everyone is welcome to drop-in to these classes – no previous experience is necessary.
On Sundays, join us for Prayers and Meditations for World Peace: teachings, meditations, and chanted Prayers dedicated to the peace and happiness of all living beings. (There is no fee for Prayers and Meditations for World Peace.) Sundays at 11am.
